Royal Geostick accelerates productivity with new flexo investment in a 12‑color BOBST MASTER M5
Mex, Switzerland, 7 April 2026
Royal Geostick Group, one of Europe’s leading label converters, has purchased a new BOBST MASTER M5 flexo press, purpose-built for the high-volume multilayer label production that its customers increasingly demand.
Configured with 12 flexo units, a double unwinder, QN module and oneECG-readiness, the MASTER M5 press will shortly be installed at Royal Geostick’s facility in Uithoorn, Netherlands, where it will strengthen the company’s ability to deliver efficient, sustainable production for medium and long-run label applications.
The investment marks the latest step in Royal Geostick’s longstanding collaboration with BOBST. After multiple acquisitions of All-in-One DIGITAL MASTER platforms, the company is now expanding its conventional flexo capacity to boost productivity, diversify applications, and meet rising market demand for high‑quality labels over longer run lengths.
A significant regulatory change is accelerating that demand. From July 2026, EU Regulation 2024/2865 introduces stricter labelling requirements across the European Union. With more on‑label information, precise formatting rules, and tight compliance deadlines, multilayer labels have become the primary solution for brands. Anticipating this shift, Royal Geostick moved quickly to invest in technology capable of producing multilayer labels at scale, sustainably, and in one pass. The MASTER M5, fully equipped with a QN module and end‑to‑end automation, positions the company to meet growing demand with speed and reliability.
Cees Schouten, COO of Royal Geostick, said: “This new MASTER M5 represents another important step in our evolution. Apart from the existing advanced All-in-One and flexo equipment, we needed an equally advanced solution dedicated to longer-run jobs, and dedicated to multilayer label production, which are on the rise as they can host extended content. We needed a press with the highest productivity, and minimum waste. The MASTER M5 gives us exactly that: exceptional print quality, unmatched automation, and the ability to produce highly specialized multilayer labels in one pass. Our continued investment in BOBST technology is directly linked to our success and to our mission to offer our customers the best possible service.”
Designed for exactly this kind of high-throughput, high-precision production, the MASTER M5 offers full automation, 12 flexo units, rapid changeovers, tight register control, and stable high‑speed performance. Integration with BOBST Connect ensures seamless data flow across Royal Geostick’s workflow, providing the reliability needed for large‑volume sustainable production.
Jordi Giralt, Technology Sales Director in PL Label, at BOBST, added: “Royal Geostick demonstrates how a clear vision, combined with leading technology, creates market leadership. What's particularly compelling about its approach is the combination of digital and conventional flexo capabilities, not as competing technologies, but as complementary tools for different run lengths and applications. That end-to-end thinking is exactly where the label industry is heading, and we are proud to support them on this next chapter of their growth.”
Through this latest investment, Royal Geostick strengthens its capabilities from ultra‑short digital runs to high‑volume flexo production with consistent quality, efficiency, and sustainability.
