BOBST unveils VISIONFFG 1024 during VIP Demo Days

Mex, Switzerland, 28 November 2025

BOBST has reached a significant milestone with the formal launch of VISIONFFG 1024, an extension to its current flexo folder-gluer portfolio in the region.

The machine was unveiled during a VIP Demo Days event at the BOBST site in Korea, held November 25-27, 2025. The three-day event welcomed over 120 VIP attendees from Southeast Asia, China, and Korea.

During the BOBST VIP Demo Days, two different box production jobs were run on the VISIONFFG 1024, highlighting the machine’s efficiency, folding and gluing quality, and high-speed performance.

VISIONFFG 1024 enhances the BOBST portfolio of high-performance folder-gluers with a new cost-effective mid-range option for the corrugated converting market.

Xavier Michelet, Zone Business Director – BOBST Southeast Asia Pacific BUPC, said: “Until recently, our FFG range included only high-end lines under the EXPERT and MASTER platforms. With the VISIONFFG platform, we offer a cost-effective solution for the mid-range market, with the outstanding folding quality, efficiency and performance that customers expect from a BOBST machine.”

With this latest addition to its folder-gluer family, BOBST’s offering now spans the MASTER, EXPERT, VISION, and NOVA lines, providing customers with access to a comprehensive portfolio of equipment and services for the corrugated industry, with an extended focus on customer needs for e-commerce and logistics. For example, the recently launched NOVAFFG 1024 combines mechanical and servo-driven systems in an open-close format and has an optimized footprint and layout, which streamlines the production process for medium to large size boxes. VISIONFFG 1024, meanwhile, is a fixed-frame, fully servo-driven line and has been designed with high-productivity and automated corrugated box production in mind. It is also enhancing the line’s productivity, reliability, and consistency.

“We’re seeing growing demand for automated inline machines in APAC, especially from converters scaling up from 700–800 tons to over 1,000 tons per month,” added Mr Michelet.

“The VISIONFFG is ideal for the brown box segment, which typically involves one or two colors with simple die cuts. It delivers excellent slotting, creasing and folding accuracy, which is critical for brand owners using automatic case erecting systems that require perfectly square boxes. This isn’t a stripped-down version, it’s cost-effective and purpose-built for customers seeking reliable, high-volume production with optimal capital investment.”

Demonstrations of VISIONFFG 1024 during the BOBST VIP Demo Days event gave a clear indication of its performance across multiple applications.

The first job involved the machine handling a three-colour corrugated box made from AB-flute board, designed for high-volume shipping and industrial packaging. It was printed using water-based inks, in line with industry demand for more sustainable production. VISIONFFG 1024 produced the double wall boxes at a consistent speed of 14,000 boxes per hour, with each bundle comprising 15 boxes.

The second demonstration focused on e-commerce packaging, which is a fast-growing segment with specific performance requirements. The job ran on A-flute board, known for its durability and lighter weight. The VISIONFFG 1024 handled this run at an impressive 18,000 boxes per hour, with each bundle containing 25 boxes and secured by an inline strapping machine.

Mr Michelet said: “This is just the beginning. With over 20 years of experience building BOBST equipment in Asia, we are confident in our ability to serve both regional and international markets efficiently.

“The VISIONFFG will be sold under the global BOBST brand and deliver the exact same manufacturing quality and outstanding performance that the corrugated industry has come to know and expect from our equipment.

“Hallmarks of our corrugated machinery portfolio include premium printing, accurate die-cutting, high-quality creasing, exact glue placement, and precision folding. This is backed by more than 130 years of technical expertise, a global footprint, and world-renowned technical support and customer service, which ensures converters experience unmatched reliability, speed and performance from their BOBST equipment, year after year, decade after decade.”
